Emerald Lake

On day 3 of our trip, we left Caroline and Will in the day camp and took Allison on a long hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. We started at Bear Lake and made our way up to Emerald Lake. We decided it was too much for the younger ones to take but decided Allison would probably enjoy it. Not only did she enjoy it, her mom had a very hard time keeping up with her. She was on a mission, and had no trouble making it to the top. We had a picnic at the top and saw a beautiful deer on the way down. There was a lake covered with lilies that was really neat to see. The only negative was that the trails were soooo crowded. I pictured it being more remote, but there were hundreds of people everywhere! Next time the entire family will go back!

This was great Mom, Dad and Allison time! Ally you did AWESOME on this hike...it was a long way up. Loved having this special time.

Did you get a look at that deer. I think that was a least an 8 pointer. Fun stuff!
