A New Tradition???

This year we added something new to our fun list of Christmas activities. Years ago we used to get together every year at someones house with the Dunbars and Brocks to celebrate Christmas. We had ornaments exchanges, ate pizza, decorated cookies, and had birthday parties for Jesus. The Dunbars moved to Tyler a couple of years ago, and we haven't been able to have our annual gathering. This year Jami and the kids were going to be in town, and so we were able to schedule a day together. Jami had the great idea of going ice skating at the Galleria. Even though our kids (9 between us) are getting older, I still wasn't sure how the outing was going to go. We had a wonderful time, and the kids loved skating and being together. Holly, Jami, and I had fun skating, too, but mostly just being able to talk and catch up. After skating we had a wonderful lunch at Mi Cocina by the skating rink, and it went really well. Finally, Jami and I took the kids for a quick look at the American Girl store before heading our separate ways. These two families are so special to us, and we have known each other since our first borns were babies. It really made this Christmas even more meaningful to be able to spend a day with them. I'm hoping it's an annual tradition!
