Dancing Deer and Shining Star

This was a very exciting weekend in our household. Ray and the girls joined an Indian Princess Tribe, and they went on their first camp out this weekend. I realized about a week ago how unprepared we really were to go on a camping trip. There seems to be a lot of things you need to go camping that we didn't have. The first and main thing was a tent....and then there was the tarp for the ground, the blowup mattress, the sleeping bags, and, of course, all kinds of flashlights. Ray took the girls to Academy, and they came back with everything they needed. They had to wait to leave on Saturday after their soccer games, but it was only a short drive from here, and they made it in plenty of time for all the fun. Our girls joined the Crow Tribe, and both girls have friends in the tribe from their class at school. Each Indian Princess is given a name. Allison is Dancing Deer, and Caroline is Shining Star. Highlights of the weekend were the bonfire, the cookout, fishing in the lake, seeing so many friends, chapel, and listening to the crickets while they "slept", Dad said everyone slept great, but judging by every one's mood this evening, I'm not sure that was the case. All in all it was a wonderful weekend, and Dad really enjoyed his bonding time with his girls. Stay tuned for another post about Mom and Will's fun weekend together.
