Mani and Pedi

I had a fun time taking the girls to get their first official manicure and pedicure.  We met friends Heather and Lauren there and had a girls' outing...Will and Cooper sat in the background and were big troopers!  It was fun to see what they each picked out, and they were so proud of their results.  I think the highlight was  putting their feet in the spa!  I am looking forward to many more mother/daughter outings throughout the years!  I love my girls!!!

Camp Aurora

Drew, Will, Caroline, Kate, and Allison

Allison attended her very first Diabetes camp this summer.  She LOVED it, and the best part was that she got to go with her friend Kate.  They played all kinds of games and did fun activities like canoeing, swimming, and archery, in addition to learning about diabetes and how to be more independent caring for herself.  While Allison and Kate attended the diabetes camp, Caroline, Will, and Kate's brother, Drew, went to Camp Carter on the same site.  They had a blast, as well, and did many of the same activities that Allison and Kate did.

We are thankful for a community that provides opportunities for kids like Allison and Kate to be around other kids that have to go through the same things that they do.  I think this is something Allison will want to do again next year!

Karate

Will has absolutely been begging to do Karate for quite awhile. I finally got him into a program this summer, and he is having such a great time. He loves his uniform and showing off all his new moves! He is learning discipline, strength, and confidence in the classes!

VBS 2010

The kids and I had a wonderful week at VBS this summer. The theme was a Rainforest, and their tie dye t-shirts said - Get It Got It God! I chaperoned Caroline's 2nd grade group this year, and we had a lot of fun. The Sunday after was VBS Sunday, and the kids got to perform some of the songs they learned during the week. I'm so upset that I don't have a picture of Allison reading scripture during the service. She read a long passage into the microphone in from of the whole congregation. She did so great with it and had a lot of fun. Katherine and Libby were staying with my parents for the weekend while Bill and Kristen were out of town, so they got to join in the fun!

Family Fun

One Sunday in June we went to visit Forty, Robin, and Jack to celebrate Robin's birthday and my birthday. We had a delicious lunch and cupcakes for dessert, and the cousins had a great time swimming and playing together. It was fun seeing the nursery for their baby girl that will be arriving soon and seeing Jack's big boy room. It's going to be fun watching them play together through the years. I took these pictures with my iphone using a fun new application that I found!

Camp Thurman Open House

For the 2nd year in a row we went to the Camp Thurman Open House. This year Alli wanted to do the big zip line, so she and Dad did it together. I have to admit it made Mom a little nervous watching her all the way up there, but it made me proud, too! The kids are so excited to go back there this summer in just a couple of weeks!

Summer Days!!!

7 on 7

Will played in a 7 on 7 touch football league this summer with some of his friends from school. It was a definite learning experience, but he was able to get an idea about offense, defense, passing, throwing, and playing center. They played two games each Tuesday evening, and boy was it hot out there!

idance 2010

Lauren, Lauren, and Caroline

The girls' dance recital theme this year was idance as a tribute to the iphone, ipod, ipad world we live in today. Both girls performed a Jazz routine, Caroline performed a tap routine, and Allison was in the Ballet Production. It was a long three days of dress rehearsals and two performances. Here a few pictures from the show!
