Today we braved the crowds (and there were crowds) and made our way to the Texas State Fair.  What would normally be a 40 minute trip took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes!  The traffic was horrible!  When we finally got there, the first thing we did was pick up some last minute tickets to the Baylor/Tech game.  We watched the second half and even though the outcome was not what we had hoped for, we had a great time watching the game.  The kids really got into the sic'em bear sign complete with sound affects.  It made this Baylor mom proud!  After the game we hit the Midway area, and I learned that Will is a maniac when it comes to roller coasters and "scary" rides.  He could do them all day and is thrilled by them.  Caroline wants nothing to do with them, and Allison is somewhere in the middle.  Ray, Allison, and Will rode the Texas Star Ferris Wheel and loved it.  Caroline and I got ice cream!  We were also able to see some animals and a small horse show.  A big highlight was introducing them to the tradition of eating Fletcher corny dogs.  It was a fun family day, and everyone was exhausted by the time they got in the car.  I hope it will be a new annual tradition for us!

State Fair is awesome (once you make your way through the hords of people, find a parking spot, and actually get inside). Disappointed to see the Bears lose to Tech. Next year you will get them. Will...you were awesome. You wanted to go on anything that was fast, went high, or had the possibility of making you sick (Awesome!).

Always good to see Big Tex and the kids wiped out after a long day.
