We attended Will's Spring program at school, and it was our last program there after many years. They always do a nice job having all the classes sing, and then they show a slide show of all the children throughout the year. After the program we were able to go and visit Will's classroom and see some of his work. They also had snacks and their art on display in Wesley Hall. Caroline and Allison each got to visit their preschool teacher from their last year there. Both of these women are very special to us. It was a fun evening, and we are going to miss these things at Chapel Hill.

Carroll County Fair
CES hosted a brand new spring fundraiser this year - Carroll County Fair. It was so much fun, and I was extremely impressed with the job this committee did putting on this event for the first time. Unfortunately, it rained that day, and they had to move many of the events inside. The rain did cancel many of the sports games that day, so I think more people were able to come. The kids had a blast, and we will definitely be looking forward to this event next year!

Girls' Weekend 2010!!!!
After much planning and anticipation, our girls' weekend finally came. It was a lesson in that things do not always go as planned, and that's OK! We were supposed to go to Marci and Ray's lake house at Cedar Creek Lake, but Marci got stuck on a business trip in Germany due to the flights being cancelled because of the volcano. She didn't get back until the day before we were supposed to meet, so we had to go to plan b, which was to meet at Becky's house. We had an incredible time, and the only down side (and it was a big one) was that because of Marci's unplanned extended stay in Germany, she was only able to join us for a few hours on Saturday. Friday night we stayed in and ordered dinner and did what we do best - talk!!!! Saturday we had a delicious brunch and an outing to a couple of fun new stores before we came back to Becky's house to eat and talk some more! Sunday we had to all head back home, but, once again, it was an amazing time together. I'm just so thankful for these girls in my life and the lifelong friendship that we share. We are already planning our next trip, and this time I think we may let our husbands tag along, too. Look for a post on that trip in the fall!!!

1st Grade Field Trip
I was one of the lucky mom's (really) chosen to go on the 1st Grade Field Trip. We went to the University of North Texas in Denton to the learning center there. It was definitely the best field trip I have ever been on, and I learned a lot and had fun watching all the kids. There were different stations/sections the different classes rotated between including dinosaur bones, insects and other small animals, mind teaser games, and and animal scavenger hunt. It was educational and fun, and I hope they continue this field trip so Will can do it in a couple of years!

Cowpoke of the Week
Each child in Will's TK class had a turn being the Cowpoke of the Week. He helped fill out information about himself, brought in a special treat for the class, and had Mom come up and read a couple of stories to the class. I read Go Dog Go and Kindergarten Here I Come. It was a very fun time, and Will loved having his special week!
