The weekend before school started we had the amazing opportunity to go to Marci and Ray's lake house at Cedar Creek Lake.  We had the best time riding in the boat, floating in the water, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, playing on Fiji Island, eating, playing games, and just talking.  We laughed so much, and the kids got to do things they had never done before.  On the first day of school, Allison declared that it was her favorite thing she did over the summer!  Thank you Marci and Ray for a wonderful weekend!

Meet the Teacher 2010

Meet the teacher is always such an exciting event, but before the actual meet the teacher day, postcards arrive in the mail for each of the kids telling who their teachers are!  On the day they are "supposed" to arrive the kids are constantly watching for the postman.  I may or may not have been worse than them watching for the mail to arrive!  When they finally came, everyone was so excited - Allison got Mrs. Fielder, Caroline got Miss Yruegas, and Will got our beloved Mrs. Small!!!   There was so much excitement and relief wrapped up in getting those cards that day!  Meet the teacher was super hectic this year going to all three classrooms and spending time at each one.  We made it, and I was able to document it a little along the way!

First Day Photo Shoot

A week before school started, I took the kids to a barn in Gram and Grandpa's neighborhood to do a little photo shoot in their first day of school outfits. I was thrilled with the results. I could just go on and on taking pictures of them. They actually usually cooperate really well.
