A Special Day

November 15, 2009, was a special day at our house. Caroline turned 7. She started out with a birthday biscuit breakfast, and then we had dinner at Babe's. She couldn't decide whether to pick Babe's or Souper Salad, but much to the relief of her father, she chose Babes! There she was embarrassed by the birthday song and had fun doing the Hokey Pokey again. After dinner we came back and had a cookie cake and opened family presents. Her favorite was the Zhu Zhu pet, Mr. Squiggles. It has been so fun to watch Caroline grow and change over the past year. She is a delight to be around, and I couldn't be more proud to have her as my daughter. Here is an interview that I did with her in honor of her 7th birthday.

Skating into her 7th Year!

Caroline had an awesome birthday this year. This first post is from the Friday before her birthday. I took Sonic lunch up to her, and then we had Krispy Creme donuts with her class at recess to celebrate. Her birthday party was at Skate Town that afternoon. Almost everyone from her class came, and she had a great time. It was Will's first time to roller skate, and he was a pro by the end of it. During cake and ice cream, the kids had fun trying to balance the ice cream on their heads. At the end of the party, Caroline got to go out into the middle of the rink while they announced her birthday and then the kids did the hokey pokey!

Rocket

All Pro Dad had a very special guest speaker in November - Rocket Ishmail former Dallas Cowboys player. He was a wonderful speaker and spoke openly about his faith. He challenged all of the kids and dads to live a life of true faith and commitment to Christ. Through Christ, all things are possible. I went to the event to take pictures, and it seems like everyone wanted their picture made with Rocket!

Butterfly Trophy Presentation

After the Butterflies last game, Coach Ray presented trophies to each of the girls. It's so fun to see them get so excited when Ray talks about why each girl was special to the team!

Solar Soccer

Allison joined a new soccer team this year and has loved playing under Coach Eraldo. He is really teaching her some great skills and positioning. Unfortunately, there were so many rain out games that they couldn't even make most of them up. We are hoping to have better luck in the spring. Here are a few pictures of her playing this fall.

All Four

Becky, Marci, Susan, and I have been friends since elementary school, and it has been a long time since we have all lived in the same area. Becky and Rick moved back to the area this summer and now live in Plano. We were finally all able to get together in November to see Becky's house and celebrate Susan's birthday. It was a wonderful evening, and no matter how much time goes by between seeing each other, it is always the same when we are together again. I am so thankful for the friendship of these three girls in my life.
