Happy 38th, Bill!

Is Libby eating that candle?

The family had a fun time celebrating Bill's birthday on Sunday.  We played a little tennis, watched the Cowboys lose, ate 7 layer dip, had a delicious dinner cooked entirely by Gram, and ate two birthday cakes, also cooked by Gram.  Bill's favorite is coconut, and since I don't like coconut at all, Gram was nice enough to make me a whole other cake!  The cousins had a blast playing together again.  Bill got yet another tie from us!

Sleeping on the drive home!

Today we braved the crowds (and there were crowds) and made our way to the Texas State Fair.  What would normally be a 40 minute trip took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes!  The traffic was horrible!  When we finally got there, the first thing we did was pick up some last minute tickets to the Baylor/Tech game.  We watched the second half and even though the outcome was not what we had hoped for, we had a great time watching the game.  The kids really got into the sic'em bear sign complete with sound affects.  It made this Baylor mom proud!  After the game we hit the Midway area, and I learned that Will is a maniac when it comes to roller coasters and "scary" rides.  He could do them all day and is thrilled by them.  Caroline wants nothing to do with them, and Allison is somewhere in the middle.  Ray, Allison, and Will rode the Texas Star Ferris Wheel and loved it.  Caroline and I got ice cream!  We were also able to see some animals and a small horse show.  A big highlight was introducing them to the tradition of eating Fletcher corny dogs.  It was a fun family day, and everyone was exhausted by the time they got in the car.  I hope it will be a new annual tradition for us!

For the 3rd year the Fall Fundraiser at CES was Boosterthon.  This year the theme was Leader's Launch, and they focused on teaching the kids to be good leaders at school and in the community.  The campaign ends with a fun run where the kids run as many laps as they can up to 35.  They make the run fun with music and different themes for each lap.  I have always taken pictures at this event for Publicity, so this year I got to enjoy taking them just as a mom!

Mom and Will

Will loves to play with Photo Booth on the computer, and I find all kinds of interesting pics and videos recorded there.  I sat down with him yesterday at the computer, and we took these pictures...fun memories!

Landry is Home!

The big day finally arrived, and we were able to pick Harper up and bring her home.  She is such a sweet puppy, and we LOVE her already.  She's tiny, but I know she will continue to grow.  So far she has been a pretty good sleeper, and she is starting to show some signs of chewing!  I was hoping to avoid that!  Ha!  The kids are having a great time with her, and we hope she will be in our family for a long long time!
