100th Day

Will was so excited to get to celebrate the 100th day of school in his class this year! They marked the occasion by wearing hats they had decorated with the number 100 and 100 items. Will and Dad did this project and glued 100 washers to the bill of the hat. He also brought in 100 pieces of macaroni and counted them and grouped them by 5s and 10s! There was a lot of counting going on that day, and Will was very impressed that he had been to school 100 days!

3rd Grade Field Trip

The 3rd graders at Allison's elementary school got to go on a field trip to the Fort Worth Museum of Natural Science and History. They took the bus over, while the parents/chaperones followed in cars, and got to explore the museum. The first part of the day included watching the show, Forces of Nature, at the Omni Theater. The show was about tornadoes, volcanoes, and earthquakes. Let's just say that the IMAX theater experience and the information about natural disasters was not a good combination for Allison, and she cried and clung to me through much of the show. I thought it was fascinating, but she barely survived. Afterwards we were able to enjoy a picnic lunch on the museum grounds. It was a beautiful day outside, and we enjoyed feeling the warm sun. The second part of the day included a presentation on space at the Planetarium. We learned about the planets, stars, moon, and vast solar system. This was much more enjoyable for her! It was a fun day for us, and I loved getting to be around Allison, her classmates, and her teacher!

Jack Turns 3!!!

We had such a great time helping Jack celebrate his 3rd birthday. He had a fun party at his house complete with entertainment, pizza, and cake. At first the girls thought they were too old to participate in the little program, and Allison did say she was "too mature" for it, but Caroline and Will danced and performed the whole time! It was wonderful to be able to be part of the Jack's celebration. Our kids always have fun with their cousin and Aunt Robin and Uncle Forty!

Open House

Right after spring break, the girls had fun showing off all their work at Open House. They both had so many writings that were very fun to read, and they had lots of work on display for us to view. Allison and Caroline have both had such great years this year, and, once again, Carroll Elementary is their favorite place to be! It's so fun to be able to see them in their classroom environment.
